Support Through Pregnancy, Birth, and the Transition Into Motherhood

Pregnancy and the postpartum period can be deeply meaningful, but they can also bring significant emotional and physical changes. For some women, this time may include sadness, anxiety, irritability, guilt, loneliness, overwhelm, difficulty bonding, or a sense of losing connection with who they were before becoming a mother.

Therapy provides a calm and compassionate space where these experiences can be explored honestly and at your own pace. You do not need to have the right words or understand exactly why you are feeling the way you do. Together, we can gently make sense of what you are experiencing, strengthen emotional support, and develop practical ways to feel more grounded and supported in everyday life.

Dina brings more than 20 years of experience working with women during pregnancy and through different stages of maternal care as a manual therapist. This background has given her a deep appreciation for the physical, emotional, and personal changes that can accompany pregnancy, birth, recovery, and the transition into motherhood.

Her therapeutic approach recognizes that emotional well-being during this time is closely connected with the body, relationships, identity, sleep, physical recovery, expectations, and the many adjustments that come with caring for a new baby.

Areas We Can Explore Together

Postpartum Depression & Low Mood

Supporting feelings of sadness, emptiness, hopelessness, disconnection, low motivation, or difficulty experiencing joy after birth.

Postpartum Anxiety & Worry

Helping manage persistent worry, racing thoughts, fear about the baby’s safety, difficulty relaxing, or feeling constantly on alert.

Overwhelm & Emotional Exhaustion

Creating space for the physical and emotional demands of caring for a baby, interrupted sleep, changing routines, and the pressure of new responsibilities.

Identity & the Transition Into Motherhood

Exploring changes in identity, independence, career, relationships, body image, and the sometimes unexpected emotions that come with becoming a parent.

Bonding & Connection

Offering a compassionate space when connection with your baby does not feel immediate or when guilt and expectations around bonding become overwhelming.

Birth Experiences & Difficult Deliveries

Providing support in processing a birth experience that felt frightening, unexpected, disappointing, or outside of your control.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Body Changes

Exploring emotions connected to physical recovery, body image, health changes, breastfeeding, and adjusting to a body that may feel different.

Relationship & Family Changes

Supporting communication, intimacy, changing roles, conflict, expectations, and the adjustments that can occur between partners and within the wider family.

Guilt, Expectations & Self-Criticism

Gently challenging the idea that there is one “right” way to be a mother and developing a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

Pregnancy Loss & Complicated Emotions

Providing a caring space to process miscarriage, pregnancy loss, fertility challenges, or grief that may be present alongside pregnancy or motherhood.

Motherhood does not have to feel joyful every moment to be meaningful. Therapy can offer a place where you do not need to pretend that everything is fine — a space to feel heard, reconnect with yourself, and move toward greater balance, confidence, and emotional well-being.
